SOC & SOH Cannot Be Blank Validation in DMS


Validation Message

When saving an document, the system may display the following message:

SOC & SOH cannot be blank.

This validation prevents the document from being saved until valid SOC and SOH values are entered.


What are SOC and SOH?

SOC (State of Charge)

SOC represents the current battery charge level of the vehicle.

Example:

  • SOC = 20% → Battery charge is low.
  • SOC = 80% → Battery is mostly charged.

SOH (State of Health)

SOH represents the overall health condition of the battery.

Example:

  • SOH = 100% → Battery is in excellent condition.
  • SOH = 90% → Battery is healthy.
  • SOH = 80% → Battery performance has reduced over time.


Why Does This Validation Appear?

SOC and SOH are mandatory fields in the EV Vehicle Inward process.

If either field contains:

  • Blank value
  • 0.00 value
  • No battery reading captured

the system will not allow the document to be saved and will display the validation message.

Example of Invalid Entry

SOC = 0.00

SOH = 0.00

Result:

SOC & SOH cannot be blank.


Resolution Steps

Step 1: Open the document from the application.

Verify that the vehicle details are populated correctly.


Step 2: Check SOC and SOH Fields

Navigate to the Other Details section.

Verify the values displayed in:

  • SOC
  • SOH

If both values show 0.00, the document cannot be saved.


Step 3: Obtain Battery Readings

Check the vehicle dashboard, battery diagnostics screen, or approved diagnostic tool to obtain:

  • Current SOC (%)
  • Current SOH (%)

Example

SOC = 56%

SOH = 100%


Step 4: Update the Values

Enter the actual battery readings in the respective fields.

Sample Entry

SOC = 56

SOH = 100

Ensure both fields contain valid values greater than zero.


Step 5: Save the Document

Click the Save button from the Home ribbon.

If valid values are entered, the system will save the EV Vehicle Inward document successfully.


Expected Result

The document should save successfully without any validation message.

Example

SOC = 56.00

SOH = 100.00

Result:

Document Saved Successfully

No validation error displayed


Troubleshooting Guide

Scenario 1: SOC and SOH Show 0.00

Cause

Battery readings have not been entered.

Solution

Update the actual SOC and SOH values before saving.


Scenario 2: Validation Appears After Entering Values

Cause

Values may not have been saved or refreshed properly.

Solution

  1. Recheck SOC and SOH values.
  2. Refresh the screen if required.
  3. Save the document again.
